Lox + Bagels Brunch Board



12 Everything Bagels
unsalted butter, for toasting
16 ounces plain cream cheese, at room temperature
1 package fresh chives, finely chopped
12-24 ounces lox (1-2 ounces per bagel)
cornichons, thinly sliced lengthwise
lemons, sliced into wedges
cucumbers, sliced into thin rounds
tomatoes, thickly sliced
avocados, thinly sliced
olives, pitted
red onion, thinly sliced rings
fresh dill, for garnish
capers, for garnish
flake sea salt, for garnish
freshly cracked black pepper, for garnish


Prepare an ice bucket to chill your Edna Valley Vineyard Rosé on ice while you prepare your brunch board.

Slice one dozen of Everything Bagels in half, toast both halves cut-side down in a cast iron skillet with butter until golden brown, set aside on the board. 

In a standup mixer, mix the plain cream cheese on high for a few minutes. Mix in the finely chopped chives, reserving a small mount for final garnish if you wish, whip until fully incorporated. Season to taste with salt. Place into a small ramekin for serving with some spreader knives on the board. 

Add all the remaining accouterments to the board: the lox slices, thinly sliced cornichons, lemon wedges, thinly sliced cucumbers, thickly sliced tomatoes, thinly sliced avocados, pitted olives, thinly sliced red onion rings (squeeze some lemon on the onion, it will add a touch of acid and vibrant pop of color!), fresh dill fronds and capers. Sprinkly flake salt and freshly cracked pepper over the entire board.
