When it comes to making wine, Josh Baker cares about one thing: offering a true expression of California’s Central Coast. A California native, Josh has spent nearly a decade crafting wine for Edna Valley Vineyard, where he takes great care to create balanced and expressive wines inspired by the diverse terroir of the Central Coast.
Josh earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California, before joining E. & J. Gallo Winery as a microbiologist. This early introduction to the wine industry helped Josh realize that winemaking was his true passion.
In 2003, Josh got the chance to pursue his dream when he joined Edna Valley Vineyard as Cellar Master. In a short five years, he rose to his current position as winemaker. Today, Josh enjoys making unique wines that showcase the special characteristics of the Central Coast’s extraordinary vineyards.
